Neno Villamor, Artist

Exploring movement in the human and animal figures has always driven Neno’s artwork. She strives to depict women in all their forms: young & old, small & large, at rest & filled with tension.

There is a deep connection to the natural world, which lends a sense of the “Goddess” to her imagery as well. While searching for a less toxic material to create her designs, she chose paper as her medium. Not just any paper, her own handmade paper!

Since 1998 she has been working in low relief sculpture and casting her original modeling clay images as “Multiple Originals.” Neno also applies the same casting technique to freestanding original sculptures. Her animal sculptures are playful and love to tell a story. Neno lived and created in the Santa Cruz area for 26 years.

Neno has recently returned to Northern California and a welcomed member of the Mendocino County Arts community. We are proud to have her as a fellow artist at Edgewater Gallery in Fort Bragg.
